Classical Music in 2014 Super Bowl Ads

Classical music was present in more than just the national anthem at the 2014 Super Bowl. In keeping with an annual tradition, here are the commercials that featured classical music.

Korean automaker maker Kia delivered one of the most-discussed spots of the night, a spoof on "The Matrix" franchise, starring Laurence Fishburne as an opera-singing Morpheus. A full, 90-second video debuted online last week the new K900 luxury sedan. The ad climaxes with a highly edited (and unidentified) rendition of Puccini's "Nessun dorma," as streetlights explode, spoons bend and buildings ripple like water.

Doritos came through with two spots from its "Crash the Super Bowl" contest. One featured Rossini overtures from Barber Of Seville and William Tell:

Another Doritos' spot, called "Time Machine," included the "Flower Duet" from Delibes's Lakme:
